Jumbo porridge oats are rolled whole, rather than halved like standard oats, giving a chunkier texture that’s ideal in hearty home baking. They’re the best choice for granola, chewy flapjacks and cookies, giving a really satisfying bite. We also love using jumbo oats for a thick, textured yet creamy porridge or overnight oats.

A fantastic product from a mixed dairy and arable farm in Shropshire. Pimhill was converted to organic farming methods in 1949 by father and son, Sam & Richard Mayall. Sam also became Vice president of the Soil Association. The farm is now run by Ginny Mayall, Sam’s granddaughter and they continue to supply independents with oats and flour.

How to prepare

For creamy porridge oats use 1 level cup of oats and 2 cups of cold water or milk per person. Bring to the boil whilst stirring continuously for 6 minutes. Remove from the heat and leave to stand for a minute before serving. Alternatively microwave on full power for 4 minutes, allow to stand and serve.
