Boil for 4-10 minutes depending on ripeness in unsalted water. Eat with melted butter. Use in fritters or soups. Try sweetcorn on the BBQ by soaking unpeeled cobs in water for an hour and cooking slowly. Turn until the kernels are tender and the leaves turn brown (25-45 mins). The peeled-back leaves make a good handle!
Best cooked really fresh. Keep in fridge with leaves on - no other packaging needed.
Late August or early September onwards for a few weeks.
Technically corn on the cob is a starch, not a vegetable. Sweetcorn can be dried and ground into flour.
