This moist, dense bread is almost a meal in itself. We’ve packed it with toasted barley, sunflower and linseeds, milk, yoghurt, and even beer!

Rye’s rich malted flavour lends itself to smoked and cured foods, pickles, and Scandi spicing (think juniper, caraway and dill). With a hearty texture, it’s also strongly suited to cheese boards, open sandwiches and canapés.


Store in a cool place, once open store in the bag or a bread bin or freeze on day of delivery.


At Riverford we take decisions about the packaging we use very seriously, therefore we will be moving to home compostable packaging for our bread.

Baked for us by our friends at the Authentic Bread Company. Based in the Gloucestershire countryside, the business has been family run for over 20 years, using time-honoured methods to produce their wide range of award-winning organic baked goods. Their bakers told us they’ve really enjoyed creating our bread range, inspired by our recipe team’s passion and knowledge.
