Storage
Oranges will store for up to two weeks at room temperature or in the fridge.
Our netting is 100% home compostable, made from PEFC-certified beechwood (a by-product of the foresting industry). Simply cut off the metal clips and put the net on your compost heap or in your council compost bin.
Class
Our oranges are sold as class 2. This means that they might not look cosmetically perfect, but they are grown for the very best flavour. (We have to tell you this to satisfy some EU rules).
Country of origin
Grown in South Africa.
Organic orange farmer
These special red-pulped oranges are grown by André and Madaléne Spangenberg. Their organic citrus farm Groenheuwel Boerdery is located in the fertile valley of Orange River, one of the largest rivers in South Africa. André and Madaléne were inspired to go organic after seeing André’s brother make the change on his own land. As well as the environmental benefits, they realised that organic farming – which requires much more careful work by hand than conventional farming – would allow them to offer year-round employment for their staff, benefiting families in this rural area where work is scarce. They have now been farming organically for 20 years.
