If 2007 was a bad year for most of our growers, 2008 was even worse, particularly for those in the west where the rain has been most persistent and the sun almost absent. With this in mind, I was amazed at the upbeat mood when we gathered on the edge of the Fens for our annual get together with suppliers and growers for Riverford, River Nene and River Swale.
