Spinach with yoghurt recipe image

Print Spinach with yoghurt

Nutritious, simple and quick to cook. The combination of earthy spinach and cooling yoghurt is lovely with curry and dal, or as part of a mezze spread.

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 225g cooked spinach, roughly chopped
  • 600ml Greek-style yoghurt
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • Powdered sumac or sweet paprika
  • Dried mint, to garnish
  • Salt & pepper

  1. Sauté the onion in the oil until browned. Cool slightly.
  2. Mix with the spinach, yoghurt, garlic and seasoning. Spoon into a serving bowl and chill until nearly ready to serve.
  3. Decorate the surface with a scattering of sumac or sweet paprika, and dried mint.
