Easy and succulent, caramelised apples are a classic companion to roasted pork. Even without the meat they're a great way to use up that glut of autumn apples and add a special something to both sweet and savoury dishes.

Ingredients

  • Apples
  • Sugar

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C/Gas 3.
  2. Core and halve apples, sprinkle with a little sugar, then place in a baking dish and roast until tender.
