Print Quick ideas for cabbage and Brussels sprouts
Sprouts and cabbage can be interchanged in many recipes. Don't just boil them. Shred and stir-fry with garlic and ginger; or roast whole sprouts or wedges of cabbage in a little olive oil. Crumble over blue cheese and return to the oven until melted, then sprinkle with chopped nuts to add a different texture and flavour. Or try these two ideas:
Ingredients
- Brussels sprouts
- Cabbage
Method
- Mix very finely shredded raw cabbage or sprouts with slivers of Parmesan and a drizzle of good aged balsamic vinegar. Serve with slices of prosciutto.
- Melt some butter in a pan, sprinkle in some caraway seeds and cook for a couple of minutes. Stir in finely shredded cabbage or sprouts and cook until just soft. Chopped cooked bacon can also be added if you like.
