Print Steamed scallops with ginger

These classic oriental ingredients add a delicate flavour to simple steamed scallops and make an elegant dinner party starter. Scallops are in season in the UK from late July to December.

Ingredients

  • 16 scallops
  • 2cm fresh ginger, peeled & finely chopped
  • 2 spring onions, finely sliced
  • 100ml sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 25g fresh coriander, roughly chopped

Method

  1. Sprinkle the scallops with the ginger and spring onions, and steam gently for about 5 minutes.
  2. Warm through the sesame oil and soy sauce.
  3. Pour over the scallops, sprinkle the chopped coriander over the top and serve.
