organic fortnight goes calypso

Some decades ago, probably over a bottle of domestically brewed super potent elderflower wine, the founders of the modern organic movement decided to launch Organic Week. Throughout the 80s and a lot of the 90s the vast majority of coverage about food and farming focused on the increasing weight of public concern surrounding conventionally produced food and its impact on our health and the environment. By contrast, organic farmers saw Organic Week as an opportunity to celebrate our connection to food and the land. As the sales of organic food have grown, so too has Organic Week, being stretched into an Organic Fortnight.

We are now in the heart of Organic Fortnight and River Nene is up to a few things to celebrate. We are opening up the farm to visitors on Saturday 15th September, starting at 10am. You can find all the details and book to come along on the website www.rivernene.co.uk
