local food hero awards 2006

The foodie TV channel, UK TV Food, have announced their shortlist for the Local Food Hero Awards 2006 and both Riverford and our sister farm River Nene have been nominated. The idea of the awards is that customers and viewers can go online and vote, nominate and post a review. The campaign is led by Gary Rhodes and aimed at those places that keep folk in cities, towns, hamlets, and villages, well-fed and happy with the best of regional food. The companies who receive the most votes by 21st August 2006 will be short listed for the final and everyone who places a vote will be entered into a prize draw to win one of 10 British food hampers.

The prize for the eventual winner will be one thing that will make a big difference to their business - from fridges to restaurants! So in shameless pursuit of glory (and possibly a new fridge for our fruit and vegetables) we are calling on all happy customers to lend us their support. You can vote and write a review at www.uktvfood.co.uk and give yourselves the chance to win a regional hamper from the show.
