Finger limes 50g

Availability: In stock

Meet the finger lime: long enjoyed by Aboriginal Australians, they are unlike any citrus you've eaten before. Cut open these unprepossessing green fingers, and squeeze - out will pour a heap of tiny, tangy jewels.

Sometimes described as 'lime caviar', these little pearls burst in the mouth, unleashing their zesty juice and a wave of fragrant sweet-sour flavour. They're a rare treat, and prized by chefs - try them while you can!

Organic citrus farmer

These unusual fruits are grown by Younes and Rachida Razion on their organic farm in Morocco. “Our family farm was established in 1950, when my great grandfather bought 500 hectares of land next to the Sebou River, not far from the historic city of Fez where I was born 20 years later,” says Younes. The farm has been certified organic since 2015; Younes and Rachida decided to convert when they learned how rich and diverse their soil was, making it perfect for organic farming. Locals taught them the history they had learned from their forefathers: “Around 500 years ago, there was a small village of shepherds here, with lots of cows and sheep who apparently pre-fertilised the soil for our citrus trees,” Younes says.

Finger limes can be kept in a cool room or the fridge for at least a week.

Our limes are sold as class 2. This means that they might not look cosmetically perfect, but they are grown for the very best flavour. (We have to tell you this to satisfy some EU rules).
