Dark speckled (Puy type) lentils 500g

Deep and earthy organic dark speckled lentils. These puy-type lentils hold their shape well. Cook in stock or water for 20 minutes with onions and spices, dress in lemon juice or olive oil and eat as a side with sausages, lamb chops or a bacon joint.
High in protein, fibre and iron, these lentils are good in hearty salads – try porchetta and warm lentil salad or red onion salad with beetroot and feta. Or use them to stuff veg, as with these baked peppers, or in a lentil soup, stew or curry. To sprout, soak overnight, rinse daily and eat after three days.

How to store dark speckled lentils

Keep your lentils in an airtight jar somewhere cool and dark and they’ll have an indefinite shelf life. Their colour may fade a bit with age, so eat them within a year for the best presentation.

Cooked lentils last up to a week in a sealed container in the fridge.
