about Quinta do Romeu

The Menéres family has been producing Port and DOC Douro wines, from 25 hectares (60 acres) of vineyards in the northern Douro, since 1874. They also produce olive oil and cork and the entire estate is certified organic. The vineyards are 320m above the sea level, with a dry climate and wide temperature variations and all the grape varieties grown are Portuguese and traditional to the Douro region. Red wines are made as naturally as possible in granite mills fermented with indigenous yeasts. All this produces wines with the typical robust character of the Douro but with extra freshness and elegance.
