Spicy dark fruits, pepper, herbs, and a touch of olive.

Maris’ wines come highly recommended. They’re a favourite of Jancis Robinson, and Robert Parker calls them ‘devilishly delicious’. La Touge is rated ‘outstanding’ by both The Wine Advocate and Wine & Spirits Magazine.

La Touge is our special choice for Christmas this year. It’s a medium-bodied Syrah-Grenache blend: aromatic, rich and spicy. Dark fruits flavours are complemented by warm notes of pepper, herbs, and a hint of olive. A happy match for a Christmas roast, or cheeseboards and charcuterie as we eat our way into the new year.

About the winemaker

Château Maris is located in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. They produce their wine organically and biodynamically. Some traditional methods are used: the entire estate is hand-harvested, and some plots are ploughed using work horses. In other ways, their methods are bang up to date: their winery is built from natural, biodegradable materials such as hemp and lime, and has zero carbon emissions. Château Maris’ bottles are made of 100% recycled glass, and their labels of recycled paper. It’s a good thing their wine is just as impressive as their environmental credentials!
