Junior Sous Chef

Are you a chef who’s passionate about quality fresh ingredients? At Riverford Organic Farmers we are not only farmers that deliver 100% organic veg boxes, we also have our award-winning restaurant The Riverford Field Kitchen.

Eating at The Field Kitchen is something to remember with the unique opportunity to work with locally sourced organic produce and veg straight from the fields. We are fortunate to have our own kitchen garden meters away from the restaurant supplying fresh herbs, radishes, spicy rocket leaves, unusual tomato varieties, strawberries and raspberries for summer desserts.

Our food is simple, but really tasty. Our dishes are a showcase for the best seasonal veg available; we want our customers to experience new and different ways to eat veg and be inspired.

You’ll use the experience you’ve already gained in a professional kitchen to provide support to the kitchen team – preparing food, cooking dishes which fit with the Field Kitchen style of cooking, as well as mucking in to make sure the kitchen area remains clean and compliant with health and safety and hygiene regulations.

The kitchen area is open to our customers, so we are really looking for chefs who are bright and personable, that are happy to talk to our customers about the food they have eaten.

Skills & experience

• Professional and catering experience in a similar establishment is essential

• Food Hygiene and/or professional cookery qualification desirable

• A genuine passion and interest for food and cooking with fresh, seasonal ingredients

Salary of £25,875 p.a. plus tronc plus company profit share – genuine 40 hr week
