Production Team Leader – Meat Packing
£11.24 per hour, paid weekly

What you’ll be doing
As well as veg, our website offers an outstanding range of organic meat, which is processed, packaged, and delivered to our box packing barns by our own organic butchery. When an order is placed, it gets sent to the Meat Packing Team, who make sure that our customers receive a complete, presentable box packed with all the tasty things they’ve chosen.
As a team leader in this area, you’ll be responsible for managing and developing a team of 11 co-owners who pick and pack both meat and recipe box orders, using our new pick-by-light system. Staying accurate is really important; a big part of your role will be continuously finding ways to improve, reducing team mis-picks and missing items. You will be working in a chilled environment of 2 degrees, so, although the correct PPE will be provided, you do need to be comfortable working in the cold.
Strong leadership and excellent communication skills are essential for this role. In the event of a breakdown or mechanical problem, you’ll work with your line manager to get the problem dealt with as quickly as possible, while keeping your team informed. You’ll also be motivating your team, and working collaboratively with other departments to keep everything running smoothly.
This is a permanent contract, 39 hours a week with Sunday 7.30am – 2.30pm and Monday to Thursday 6:30am-2:30pm. Based at Wash Barn, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0JU
