Throughout the year we will be holding special events from our great annual pumpkin harvest, to cookery demonstrations.

Many of our events will happen from April through to October, so we will be updating the website constantly, so please check on a regular basis.

A passion for farming and getting fresh produce to the table as directly as possible was Guy Watson's starting point for the Field Kitchen. Now our resident chef, Jane Baxter, will offer cookery demonstrations in the Field Kitchen to share her cookery secrets and techniques with you.

Jane started her career at the Carved Angel under the renowned talent of Joyce Molyneux. She moved onto the Old Vicarage in Sheffield, followed by a two year stint at the famous River Cafe in London working closely with Rose Gray and Ruth Rogers. Before bringing her talents home to Riverford, Jane spent many years travelling and cooking her way around the South Pacific.

The day will start at 10h00 with a short tour and introduction to Riverford. You will see where and how we grow the organic produce that we use in the Field Kitchen.

Back in the kitchen, there will be tea & coffee, then down to the business of the cookery demonstration. Jane will take you through the preparation of a 2 course lunch including some breadmaking with plenty of opportunities to taste and ask questions. We will round off the day with lunch and a glass of wine. All of the recipes demonstrated will be ready for you to take away in a special pack. The groups for the demonstrations will be small (between 8 - 10 people), to ensure you get the most out of it.

The cost is £60.00 per person to include coffee on arrival, a short introduction to Riverford, the demonstration, a copy of the recipes demonstrated and a 2 course lunch with wine and coffee.

Confirmation of your booking will sent to you on receipt of the full pre-payment.

Cheques can be made payable to 'Riverford Organic Vegetables'.

The Field Kitchen is now licensed, so there will be a selection of wines available for purchase to compliment your meal.

Groups, businesses and individuals are welcome – we just need a minimum of 16 people to open. Evening bookings are also available on request.
