Last year our award-winning Field Kitchen restaurant was on the move.

Based in a yurt, we toured the country dishing up generous meals prepared from high quality, local, seasonal and organic produce straight from our fields.

We are staying put this year but it was hugely popular so we would like to get out and about again with some form of Field Kitchen in other parts of the country. Do come back and see whether we'll be at a field near you next year. The video gives a flavour of our travels.

The Travelling Field Kitchen is based on our original Field Kitchen restaurant in Devon which is open for lunches, suppers and a few of our favourite themed evenings all year. Book ahead; we're busier than ever particularly during the holiday months.

a bit more about yurts for life

Yurts for Life, who constructed our yurt, is a family business based in our neighbouring village of Landscove, started by a father and son team with a passion for alternative forms of sustainable housing that extends beyond yurts to roundhouse, gers and other structures. We love their sustainable approach and are very envious of their electricity bill, which they tell is less than £90 a quarter for their 2000 sq ft workshop. A big thank you to Rod Richardson and his team for all their work on the yurt and the furniture. Find out more about them at www.yurtsforlife.com.
