view map - we are in the countryside so take a look at the written instructions too.

Coming from Exeter or Plymouth

(If coming from further away, use the M5, which becomes the A38)

Come off the A38 at Buckfastleigh and take the A384 for Totnes. The Dartbridge Inn is on your left. Take the third exit on the left (after approximately 1.5 miles). In advance look for a black lorry sign, which says 'Riverford Organics'. The junction itself, which comes soon after a sharp left hand bend, is marked Landscove and Woolston Green. Turn left and continue along this road for approximately half a mile. You will pass two cottages on your left and then an entrance to a green lane. Take the next turning left down the concrete drive to the farm car park on the right.

by train:

Mainline trains run from Plymouth and Exeter (and beyond) to Totnes every half hour or so. Check National Rail Enquiries for train times and fares.

From here there are various travel options to the farm, including steam train, bus and bicycle (see ‘Coming from Totnes’ below).

Get off at ‘Buckfastleigh Station Approach’ (grid ref. Continue along this road for approximately half a mile. You will pass two cottages on your left and then a green lane. Take the next turning left down the concrete drive to the farm car park on the right.

nearest railway station: Totnes (5 miles)

nearest bus stop: ‘Dartington, Staverton Turn’ (1 mile – grid ref. SX769640) on the A384.

walking from Staverton railway station to the farm: Turn left out of Staverton station (grid ref. SX784638), then fork right past Sunnyside Cottage and into some woods. After ten minutes or so, you will emerge from the woods and walk past two cottages on your right (named Abham Orchard and Abham Cottage). Keep going straight on up the hill, ignoring the footpaths to your right and left.  When you reach the pylons, keep following the road as it snakes round to the right then left (ignoring the turning on your left) and past Abham substation. Turn right after the substation (ignoring the first right-hand turn to Bumpston Cottage) and then immediately left (signposted ‘Landscove’ and ‘Woolston Green’).  From here you have two options: (a) following the lane or (b) taking a footpath through some of our land.

(a) If you follow the lane, you will reach some farm buildings on your left after a couple of minutes.  This is the rear entrance to Wash Farm.  Follow the signs to ‘Disabled Parking’ and they will take you straight to the Field Kitchen.

(b) If you want to take the footpath, you will see a small gate in the hedgerow on your left. Got through this gate, turn right and follow the edge of the field for a minute or two until you get to another gap in the hedge on your right. Go through this gap and follow the path down the hill, past the compost bins and to the Field Kitchen.
