Our third Observer award! Colin Firth and Lucy Siegle presented us with a beautiful engraved wooden trophy at a ceremony at the V&A in London.

The Field Kitchen team was overwhelmed to win this award two years in a row, voted for by Observer readers.

 

 

 

 

Winner, Fruit & Vegetable category, Soil Association Organic Food Awards 2009

Our mini cucumbers were crowned tastiest of all fruit and veg. Judges called them 'delicate, sweet, fresh and crunchy'. Hot on their heels were our pointed cabbages, awarded Commended.

 

 

 

Best Organic Retailer 2009, Soil Association Natural and Organic Awards

We were really thrilled to get this one; it was voted for by the public and our customers.

 

 

Best Ethical Business 2009, Observer Ethical Awards

Deborah Meaden from Dragon's Den said we are "ethical and environmental through and through". We got a crazy-looking trophy depicting our carbon footprint; come and see it if you visit our farm in Devon.

 

 

Best Ethical Restaurant 2009, Observer Food Monthly Awards

Our Field Kitchen restaurant won this, voted for by Observer readers. The Field Kitchen team called this "the highest accolade" possible.

 

 

National Example of Excellence 2009, Business in the Community's Rural Action Award

This award celebrates our work with grower groups around the country. HRH The Prince of Wales gave us a baby oak tree from Highgrove, which we're planting on the farm in Devon.

 

Best First Book and Work on British Food 2009 for the Riverford Farm Cook Book, Guild of Food Writers Awards

Guy and Jane were overwhelmed to win two awards for their first book. We were in good company; other winners included Jamie Oliver, Heston Blumenthal and Mark Hix.

Non-Multiple Retailer of the Year 2008, Farm Business Food and Farming Industry Awards

A customer secretly nominated us for this; thank you very much whoever you are! James picked up this award in his kilt.
